Hi NCLUGers,

What: May 14th NCLUG Meeting
When: Tuesday, May 14th, 2013, 6pm
Where: Dazbog Coffee (downstairs) 401 Mason Court,
    Fort Collins, CO 80524 http://goo.gl/mGTYX

Please join us again NCLUG at Dazbog Coffee on Tuesday.

Maxwell Spangler will be presenting:
"Exploring Gnome 3's Gnome Shell experience."

Personal computers have been using variations of the classic "desktop"
user interface with little change for over a decade.

After a long period of minor, mostly cosmetic changes we're re-entering
a period of experimentation and innovation. Tablet computers, iPhones,
Windows 8's Metro and several new environments in Linux are source of
joy for some and frustration for others. In this presentation I'll
briefly look at where we've been and compare that with the Gnome 3
environment found in Fedora Linux. I'll tell you what I love about it
and open your eyes to why you should try it."

Maxwell Spangler began using Linux in the early 1990s when he couldn't
afford a Unix workstation. He's been chasing the fantasy of the
perfect Linux workstation since then and is more satisfied than ever.
He currently works as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Hewlett-Packard
testing Linux on high-end server systems.

See you there!
