[NCLUG] automatically moving pop mail to my spool

I would like to have my email automatically (every so many minutes)
moved from my @home pop3 account to my linux box's
/var/spool/mail/<user>.  This must be pretty easy, but I've never
done it before.

How can I automatically move my mail periodically to my local
machine's spool?
