Forwarded from another mailing list I'm on. Isn't this less than a week
from the 10th anniversary of Linux?

Needless to say, we WILL be having a party for this.

=========================
For those of you now familiar with it, UNIX keeps track of time as a number
of seconds since midnight 1 January 1970. By now, this is a pretty big
number.

In fact, on Sunday, 9 September 2001 at 01:46:40 UTC (that's 7:46 p.m.
Saturday the 8th here), it will hit exactly *one billion* seconds. I
figure that's a good reason to celebrate :-).

The details have not been sorted out yet; this is just a heads-up that
something is coming. If you want to watch it approach, try this command...

	watch -n 1 "date +%s | figlet -f big"

If you don't have figlet on your system, you'll have to settle for...

	watch -n 1 "date +%s"

 Some girl with psychic power, She said "T-bone, what's your sign?"
 I blinked and answered "Neon", I thought I'd blow her mind.
