[NCLUG] Highpoint IDE RAID For Linux?

I have had good luck with the Promise FastTrak66/100 cards (this is
their "el-cheapo-delux" controller for poor bastards like me). Promise
offers binaries on their web site for Suse 7.x and RedHat 7.x distros.
Both of my setups have only two drives each, configured as raid-0
(SPEED!!!!, but not one ounce of safety). I see about an 85% gain in
performance gain using hdparm compared to a configuration of a single
drive. With four drives it might be even faster :)

My two cents.
