[NCLUG] Whistling computer

Can you teach is some good tunes ?? ;-)

Do you have some freeze spray - it is available at most electronic stores,
including Radio Shack.

When the thingy is whistling Dixie, spray the suspect board - (cold, -250F
or so, out of the can!) is typically not detrimental to electronic
components - they prefer running, colder is better - directly on the
suspect components. The change in operational temperature should help you
isolate the problematic component(s).

Disclaimer: Although this is a tried and true electronics troubleshooting
technique, I have experienced hot chips physically blowing apart from the
rapid change of temperature, so it would not be a recommended technique on
expensive things like processors, unless this is a last resort (which is
where it is typically used).
