[NCLUG] Planning for Install Fest and Demo Day, Saturday November 3rd

Well, it's really not that serious at all. As a club you can ask ASCSU for
funds. It is a fairly formal process. Last year we did it very early in
the semester and we got results in time for the Fest. They gave us a
couple of hundred dollars to cover the cost of renting a large ballroom
and the activation charge for the port. We could have written up another
application this year. However, the two rooms we have are small enough
that we get them for free; by the time we reserved the rooms it was
getting very close to the Fest day; and I didn't have time to try to get
to campus to figure out who to contact about the application, etc (since
I'm no longer a student and it is very much out of my way to go to CSU).
Basically, NCLUG and the LUG of CSU have about 50 members, so it seemed
just as easy to ask a few "relaxed" members if they would not mind
contributing $1 each.

If it is that big of a deal, I'll pay the $25 myself. It certainly isn't
worth it for me to spend half a day at CSU filling out forms to get that
amount from the student organization -- it would cost me more for the
child care for my son that I would have to spend to cover my time at CSU.

Please note that before we starting using the CSU LUG to get space to hold
the Fest we had to rent space at the Holiday Inn.

We are getting a very good deal from CSU -- I was thrilled that the rooms
we are getting are free for any student organization.
