Daniel (and others),

One tool that we use at ITEC to compare
distros is the DistroWatch web site.  It
offers a "top 10" comparison where you can
compare packages within distributions to
see what is there, who has the latest, etc.,
etc., etc.

for the comparison.  Lycros 1.0, Mandrake 8.2, 
and RedHat 7.2 are on the chart, so you can 
compare packages and notes that way.

As for usage, personally, I have not played
with Lycrois (yet).
