Hi All,
I've got a adaptec 2940uw card and just got a seagate baracuda ultra2
LVD/SE drive (both for free). I'd like to use them together but am having
a heck of a time figuring out which cable to get and if it will even work.
My understanding is that the drive is backwards compatible with the ultra
wide interface. Thus, I would think it will work. Am I correct?
I'm totally confused as to which cable to purchase. Can I use a SE (single
ended) 68-pin ultra wide cable or must I get the more expensive LVD ribbon
cable?
The drive lacks termination, so I assume that I must also purchase a
terminator for either cable and jumper the terminator power on the drive.
Is that true?
I read the scsi discussion here a back in november, but it didn't seem to
cover this exactly. I've also spent about 5 hours searching the net to no
avail.
Searching for enlightenment.
