You probably had funky hardware or something; I've been using VMware since
2.0.3 (and when they had student pricing ;-), and I've tried Win4Lin and
nothing beats VMware; it just works (tm).

By restarting the linux side ... I mean stopping and restarting VMWare:

	shuting down the VMWare session.
sh /etc/rc.d/init.d/vmware stop; sh /etc/rc.d/init.d/vmware start
	restart vmware and Windows application

This was particularly a problem with using the local samba file server in
the office ... runnning the application native on the same box to the samba
server was stable, running the application under VMWare on the box to the
same server would hand the linux side network emulation - forcing the above
restart sequence. Since the box was dual boot ... able to boot and run
both WinME and RedHat 7.2 .... this pretty much rules out hardware since
both WinME native and RedHat are able stable - only the virtual hosting of
WinME was unstable.
