[NCLUG] Linux DTP?

Mark & Idris & anyone else following this thread:
	I am, in fact, looking for something to use to develop brochures &
such, and Mark's comment below confirms my suspicions re: LaTeX -- that it's
probably not the tool for that sort of job.  The Lyx web page gave me the
impression that LaTeX is basically a very, very good markup language, and
ideally suited to situations where structure is very strong, but poorly
suited to situations where you care a lot about hand-tweaking type for
appearance, placing text atop background images, that whole glossy-output
sort of thing.  Idris, since you seem extremely knowledgeable on the topic,
I'll ask you to correct me if I seem mistaken about that.
	In the meantime, I've downloaded the .tgz for Scribus on the
strength of its screenshots -- it looks like a promising alternative for the
sort of work I'm trying to get done.
