This is just not true.  Redhat, Mandrake, Suse are all, very much,
easier to install than Windows.
    Linux:   put in CD, boot, click click click, CD2, click reboot DONE!

    Windows:  put in CD, boot, click click click, reboot, click click click
         reboot, put in net driver CD, click click click, reboot, put in 
scanner
         CD, click click click reboot, put in printer CD, click click 
click reboot,
         put in CDRW CD, click click click reboot,....

The one and only way to make Windows easier to install for
the average person is to avoid installing at all.  Hey how about we
ship all computers worldwide with Windows pre-installed.  Then it
will appear simple.  This is coming from a guy with over 20 years
of UNIX and has installed unix from TK50 tape on Vax hardware.

Duh?  I believe it was about 1 or 2 days after SCO filed against IBM
that MS jumped up and agreed to pay SCO an undisclosed sum of
money for UNIX rights.
