[NCLUG] Nameserver Hosting

LUG,

Does anyone know of an outfit that offers just nameserver hosting?

I've registered a domain name for personal use. While I have big plans for it
eventually (when I have the time and resources), for now I just want to use it
for e-mail using Google Apps.

The only service the registrar provides is adding an NS record for their own
zone. I need to specify the NS location. Trouble is, I don't have one, or the
means to host one.

I know a lot of web hosting outfits do nameserver hosting as well, but I don't
want any web hosting at the moment, and I'd rather not pay for it. Is there
anyone that will just do the DNS server?

I can do as little or as much as needed. (I know how to install and configured
BIND.) But since I only need a single MX record, it probably makes more sense
just to add my zone to a currently running installation.

(Also, Google Apps requires you to add an arbitrary CNAME record in order to
verify that you do indeed control the domain, so I would have to do that too.)

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim Swanson
