Not sure what you mean by 'good implementation.' All I use python for  
is a calculator and (lately) as a learning aid with Nodebox.

Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) comes with Python 2.5(.1) out-of-box. The  
version you get from macports seems to be 2.5.2 today. I assume that's  
the fink version as well.

Couldn't tell you about jpython etc.
