Personally, I want to see the RAID error correction data be as correct as
possible, I'm happy to exercise the drives, and I have never honestly
noticed the RAID re-sync making the system sluggish while doing an install.
I feel better knowing that if something goes wrong, and I have to start
looking at the raw disc data, that the checksum data being incorrect is the
exception not the rule.

It may be worthless data, but I can see situations where it's a useful
data-point.

My recommendation would be to let the RAID sync...
