The NCLUG meeting was opened by James.

David spoke about his experiences configuring his Linode system.
Specifically David spoke about setting up iptables firewall rules,
OpenVPN, a private certificate authority, and speed testing.

Next to present to the group was Eddie. Eddie gave a short talk
titled "Hack your own VIM Colorscheme, in one weekend" where he
described how he created his own syntax highlighting scheme for Vim.
His presentation used GoDoc Go "Present" to produce the slides.

Then Nathan talked about what he is doing with git hooks to help him
with his web site. Nathan uses git for many tasks and found himself
doing the same repetitive actions a lot. He dived into the server
side hooks that are available to automate many of his tasks. We were
shown his blog compiler now now uses git hooks for deployment. He
found this guide a useful reference due to variables being described:

A lively Free-For-All discussion of various wide ranging topics too
quick to capture effectively ended the meeting.
