Job Description:

 

Title: Software Engineer / Architect

Location: Boulder, CO

Direct, Fulltime Opportunity 

 

We have an opening for an experienced OS software engineer / architect
inside the successful IPCBU Unified Communications team. The engineer
would be a member of the Linux-based development platform team for
Unified Communications. Flexibility is valued - including the ability to
contribute within the virtualization environment for Unified
Communications.

Primary Technologies: 

Linux OS, Voice over IP, CUCM/Unity Connection, PC/server technology,
Virtualization - primarily VMWare but others are highly desirable,
Real-time systems.

Required Skills: 
Solid understanding of these topics:
- Experience building linux kernels and modules
- Experience building kernel patches
- Knowledge of linux kernel internals (system calls, filesystems, memory
usage, block layer, networking)
- Experience with ext2/3/4 filesystems
- Experience with iptables and netfilter
- Experience with virtualization of linux guests on VMware, KVM
- Understanding of hypervisor designs
- Familiar with open source projects, licenses

Linux experience, including scripting and programming in multiple
environments is important. 

Virtualization technology knowledge - especially VMWare - other
virtualization systems are highly desirable. Experience with SAN
technology is highly desirable.

Real-world experience with product deployment in a virtualized
environment is highly desirable.

In-depth knowledge of PC server hardware technology is highly desirable.
Experience with CUCM or other Unified communications platform would be
helpful.

Ability to work well within an engineering team is key.

As with any highly technical position, there is a need for clear,
concise communication in both written and spoken form. Ability to
communicate well with executives is highly desirable.

Qualifications: 

M.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. This is a senior
position in which demonstrated competence is essential over a minimum of
5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
