Title:  SW Developer - Backup, Archive, Security and Encryption Development

Department is responsible for designing and developing software for data management applications within the Open Storage Division of Oracle.

		

This specific position is for a lead engineer who has a passion and can focus on performance analysis and optimization  across a wide range of products key to Oracle's storage application stack. The lead will need to be skilled in several, if not all of the following areas

.         Oracle DBA skills including performance/query tuning, table/index mapping.

.         Solaris, Linux and Windows System Administration skills

.         Performance tracing/analysis  tools on specific operating systems (Dtrace, Windows performance toolkit, etc)

.         Data management applications 

.         Programming in one or more of the following high level languages (in order of preference)

o   C

o   C++

o   Java

o   Perl/Python

o   Unix Shell Script

o   Windows Shell

.         Application level programming with relational databases, specifically Oracle , utilizing various database interface methodologies (command line sql, jdbc, odbc, etc). 

.         Storage administration experience with  hardware including EMC and Network Appliance

.         Detailed understanding of backup and archive concepts, understanding of one or more commercial products.

.         Networking expertise, including ability to effectively utilize software/hardware analyzers. 

.         SAN Storage expertise. Knowledge of concepts, ability to set up and troubleshoot a SAN utilizing Brocade/Cisco switches. 

.         General I/O hardware knowledge, ability to utilize PCI-E analyzers.

.         Kernel programming experience. 

.         Parallel/multi-thread programming experience, knowledge of multi-core processor optimization techniques.

.         Knowledge of one or more system simulation tools (preferably Matlab/Simulink)
