Dot Hill Systems, a leader in scalable and highly available storage networking solutions, has an immediate opening for an experienced Software Development Engineer in our Longmont facility. You will be working with top quality staff in a team oriented environment. Our professionals strive to supply customers with superior products and service.

General Requirements:

The successful candidate will be self motivated, task and schedule driven, with a willingness to fill in when needed and quickly identify or move to the next task when the current task is completed, and have a proven ability to work as part of a development team.

The ability to effectively communicate and document software design and effectively listen and discuss technical problems with customers, test team, and development team is a must. The successful candidate will actively participate in detailed code inspections and will have experience developing storage systems.

Minimum Skill Requirements

 *   5+ years C/C++ development
 *   5+ years embedded software development
 *   Experience with Windows/Linux OS and application development
 *   Experience with software design and development methodologies
 *   Experience with embedded multi-threaded RTOS application development
 *   Experience with SCSI protocol
 *   Experience with SVN or other source control systems

Desired Additional Skill Requirements:

 *   Experience with full product development cycle from concept to product shipping
 *   Experience with RAID controller system or other storage controller systems
 *   Experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS) system software development
 *   Experience porting embedded software solutions between platforms
 *   Experience with software development on multi-core processors
 *   Experience with object oriented analysis, design, and development methodology
 *   Experience with embedded software development on X86 based (Intel/AMD) processors
 *   Experience with X86 based processor architecture, BIOS and assembly languages
 *   Experience with FC, iSCSI, SAS/SATA protocols
 *   Experience with Kernel, RTOS and distributed operating systems
 *   Experience with enterprise software feature development
 *   Experience with embedded software development tool environments and tool sets

Education Requirements:

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
