Job Description:

 

The members of the ZFS team are responsible for developing future capabilities that will be used in Solaris and in the Sun ZFS Appliance.  These engineers work on ZFS and other kernel software development.

 

ZFS is core technology for Solaris and directly impacts many products.  It is an innovative filesystem that provides immense capacity (128 bit), provable data integrity, on-disk format that is always consistent, self-optimizing performance, and real-time remote replication.

 

The ZFS Development Group is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join a high-caliber team that delivers innovative filesystem software.

 

Preferred skills and experience:

-          BS/CS or equivalent.  Masters preferred.

-          7+ years of Operating Systems development experience

-          Experience with Unix programming in C

-          Experience with filesystem programming

-          Excellent debugging and analytical skills

-          Excellent teamwork, communication and time management skills

-          Ability to learn new skills quickly

-          Ability to work independently as well as in a small team

-          A PASSION to build and deliver world-class products in a fast-paced environment
