Job Title:  Technical Writer with Unix System Administration 

Location:  Broomfield, CO

 

 

The Information Development and Globalization Group creates documentation for software products in the Systems business unit, including Oracle Solaris, Oracle Solaris Cluster, and Oracle Solaris Studio. Documentation products include man pages, user guides, reference manuals, articles, online help, and other types of content. Audiences are enterprise administrators and developers.

 

We are looking for a writer with one to three years experience documenting complex software products and developer products. Candidates must have demonstrated writing ability and technical aptitude. In addition, the following knowledge and experience are desired:



- Strong knowledge of UNIX administration

OR

- Strong knowledge of developer tools (experience with programming is a plus; knowledge of C, C++, or Java is a definite plus)
- Experience using structured documentation tools (experience using EPIC or Oxygen is a plus)
- Familiarity with the documentation writing process including research, planning, scheduling, writing, producing graphics, testing, and gathering and incorporating feedback
- Ability to evaluate potential content from a user point of view
- Understanding of usability principles
