DIRECT HIRE WITH ORACLE - Staff Compliance Engineer - EMC-Compliance, Safety, Dangerous Goods and Substance

 

Location:  Broomfield, CO

 

Supports Hardware Development to ensure all hardware products comply with laws specific to 4 areas of expertise: EMC-Compliance, Safety, Dangerous Goods, and Substance. This organization defines strategies and processes to support current and future compliance regulations. Provides business units with single point consultation, interpretation and resolution of all Compliance related project regulations specific to the 4 regulatory expertise areas. Technical consultant for staff in areas of design, test, program management, and certification. Advises management on the legal implications of World Wide Compliance Regulations.

This staff engineer will define and perform Compliance Test plans. The role will define product, or system, configurations to support testing. The scope of testing is Emissions and Immunity: Radiated Emissions, Conducted Emissions, ESD, EFT, Surge, Radiated Immunity, Conducted Immunity, Flicker, and Harmonics. Ensure products meet all engineered regulatory requirement for the markets into which Oracle ships.

 

Expertise Areas:

Proficient in World Wide EMC Compliance and Safety requirements including country registrations and certifications 
Knowledge of ITE (Computer Storage and Network) Productization Processes 
In-depth knowledge of Product Team responsibilities, roles, dependencies and dynamics 
Proficient understanding of Product Life Cycle phases as related to Compliance support activities
Ability to interpret specs, legislated requirements and translate into clear concise engineering executables 
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively at the product team level
Ability to influence others, and negotiate 
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills at the peer-to-peer level

 

Preferred Areas:

Tape Library Technology
Knowledge of intentional radiator regulations and certifications 
Knowledge of Telecom requirements specific to EMC and Safety 
In-depth knowledge of Oracle's Engineering development processes and dependencies 
BSEE, and 7 years of experience preferred.
