Your assertion seems to be something along the lines of "if we're not
extra nice to the rich people at the expense of the poor people,
everything will go to hell in a handbasket and there will be no place
for me to find work when I graduate."  (Please correct my impression
if I'm missing something.)

I don't think your conclusion is correct.  And I haven't seen you
present any evidence in support of it.

Anyway, if you need money to fund production of the next big thing,
you'll get it if you can convince your investors they will make more
money on the investment.  And there's always the Bucky Fuller route of
coming up with all sorts of great ideas and not being very concerned
with if or when or how they will actually be produced.  You can be
helpful to large numbers of people even if your invention isn't mass
produced.  You may not make billions, but so what?
