Ok, I was just able to get an address assigned by DHCP.  Interestingly
enough, it was one less than the number I had snagged manually...

I was able to get it up using "dhcpcd eth0", "pump -h <old @home name> -i
eth0", and just "pump -i eth0".  So, it should come up for users with their
regular settings, though the hostname doesn't seem to be necessary.
