[NCLUG] non-root login cycles back to login screen

humm...something in your old setup is not there anymore or not working
as expected... 

Look and see if there are any hints in your ~/.xsession-errors
file. That should contain the output of you logging in, so it should
tell you if something doesn't exist, etc...
