Inside information, bought the hard way <grin> ... I was
bitten by this a year ago,
   http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=12492
and had to modify a number of my shell scripts to perform as I
expected.

There are a couple of the glibc developers working for RH --
Ulrich Drepper comes immediately to mind -- and I had the
privilege to participate in discussions of the I18N topic with
him and others.
