[NCLUG] Linux dial-up server. . .

How-d. Since no one seemed that interested in my Wine question (damn you
all), I've got a new one that will hopefully prove a bit more interesting.
I am setting up a dial-up server using Red Hat 7.0 with the 2.4.2 kernel. I
need to have Windoze systems able to dial in to the server and access a
local web page.
The good news: I can dial in from a windows box. Authentication works
fine. I can also access the web page using the IP address of the dial-up
server (10.0.0.1).
The bad news: Instead of using the IP address, I'd like to be able to
access the web page using a name like testpage.domain.com.
The system isn't attached to the intranet (or internet for that matter). I
have 10.0.0.1 entered into /etc/hosts as pointing to "modemtest" without the
quotes. When I dial in to the system and type in the url as
http://modemtest , it doesn't work. I can still access the web page as
10.0.0.1, however. I've also tried modemtest.hp.com (this is for work so
that people using modems in our business pc's can test them). I've also
tried editing resolv.conf. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff
