[NCLUG] Red Hat 7.1, Kernel 2.4.2 Recompiling issues. . .

Hello everyone,

Here's a strange one I ran across today.  Any time I tried to compile the
kernel with _anything_ set to be installed as a module, the recompile would
error out, even though the modules were present (well, at least the first
couple were. . .I gave up checking after that).  I resigned myself to
compiling everything into the kernel and everything worked fine.  Any
thoughts?  Also, I'm trying to get a USB floppy to work (hence the kernel
recompilation) with no success. . .Anyone ever accomplish this?
