Not that this helps any, but if it was an ext2 filesystem, you could try

Actually, the web page says something about working on Solaris -- it
might just work on that filesystem.  <shrug> Worth a try.  Mind you, if
you haven't already, halt the machine -- Those blocks may be
recoverable, but only as long as there's nothing else on 'em.
