The VM "fix" of 2.4.10 wasn't very stable for me. RedHat typically uses Alan
Cox's kernels which are using a different memory manangement scheme than
Linus'. Of the recent kernels I've used, 2.4.9 has been stable, even if the
VM is inefficient. 2.4.10 was not stable (for me), 2.4.11 got nixed by Linus
the same day it came out (he renamed it "don't use"), and 2.4.12 is
reportedly having problems (parallel port at least). No 2.4.13 yet. Some of
the 2.4.10-ac and 2.4.12-ac kernels have been stable for me as well. So, in
sum, RedHat's 2.4.9-6 is probably more stable than any of the > .9 kernels.

I have a local kernel mirror at ftp://kernel.us.themoes.org . It's hosted at
FRII, so if you're near them, it'll be your fastest mirror.
