It all depends on your motherboard.  Check out the lm_sensors software
at http://secure.netroedge.com/~lm78/.   Last I looked my Tyan Dual
Athlon 2460 boards were not supported.  I believe it lists supported
hardware based on sensor chips and not mobo numbers.
