you're looking at desktop sales, not the vastly more profitable server
sales. consider what the profit to microsoft would be if google switched
to windows from linux. last figures i remember were 8000 machines in their
compute farm, at $1000 for advanced server or whatever they're calling it
these days. even microsoft cares about the odd $8 million here or there.
