[NCLUG] dead drive

Mike,

Do you have OS 9 installed or do you have an OS 9 CD? You can try 
booting in 9 from the hard drive or the CD and if it boots get your 
data off (or try a disk repair utility and then see if OS X will boot 
after that. 9 is a lot less fussy about certain kinds of disk 
problems.
