Partially yes, but absolutely not in it's entirety. SCO claims there is
additional proof which goes beyound this ... I say wait and see.

And what we see are clear copyright violations since the AT&T copyrights
were removed. This code is however not the basis of the claims against IBM
in the first round of proceedings. Nor has there been any serious dispute
that clean room standards have been grossly violated placing much of linux
development as risk of being fully and completely tainted by UNIX IP.

IBM, SGI, SUN, HP .... all know about the clean room requirments, have each
madated that standard in other legal proceedings regarding their own property,
have established and used that standard to redevelop software at times, and
have left the Linux community in a difficult position dispite whatever
"proof" may have been released at this point.

I'm sorry ... the slander that started this thread, and the slashdot slander,
and the other rantings in Linux pubs don't seem to be questioned by many.
If the vast majority of Linux supporters are willing to be quiet and let
these people speak slander in the name of the linux and open source
community, then their silence is damning.

It is probably over a year before this will come to trial, and one strategy
is to get SCO to completely expose their case so everything can be completely
sanitized before a judgement as a way to mitigate any damage claims.

While the Linux community (much of which is slandering SCO like the poster
that started this thread) would like SCO to act faster, one does have to
ask the question of why should SCO respond (or help) the linux community
that is so strongly slandering it?

There are clearly some in the Linux community that would like to do right,
and be fair .... but few are acting responsibly in regard to the slander,
and those that express hate rather than understanding regarding a breach
of IP rights.

But when many like Paul, want to go past the debate of just how much, or
little, of Linux is tainted and needs to be redeveloped and focus and hateful
slander ... then I say enough is enough.

John
