That's because they're not some "small IP legal team from Utah."
SCO hired David Boies.
The name might sound familiar since he was the head attorney for the cases
Al Gore brought in the 2000 election debacle and also (more recognizable
for the geeks) the DoJ/Microsoft antitrust suit.
Given his history, let's hope he loses this frivilous suit, too.
Amusingly enough, IBM hired his old firm to represent them in the SCO case:
