   I'd second that! Linux programs seem to follow the guideline:
"geekware, by geeks, for geeks" and is somewhat hostile to the
average person that just wants to run software that ISN'T M$ based
and doesn't want to be a Linux environment specialist. One of the
worst is the compiler setups. I should not need to be a compiler
specialist to set up a development environment for coding on one
platform or another. Even Redhat installations require quite a
bit of knowledge about the system hardware and software to get a
good install.
   All this spoken by someone is actually IS a geek on a couple of
UNIX platforms too! (Me that is.) The Linux community tends to treat
newcomers to the platform the way we, who were in on the first days
of the internet, used to treat AOL users. You know what I mean.
But hey, it's early, there is still room to grow in Linux.

<conspiracy theory>

   You know, I wonder if M$ is paying SCO to generate all this FUD just
to kill Linux in the corporate world?

</conspiracy theory>

IMO,
DLC
