Rather than making your own redhat distribution, you might find it easier
to make an archive of your /var/cache/yum directory.  This is where yum
stores all of the headers and rpms it downloads.  If you copy this archive
to a freshly installed computer, and run `yum -y update`, it will only
need to download packages newer than those in the archive, saving
significant time and bandwidth.  I find myself frequently performing new
fedora installs, and I have used this strategy successfully many times.
