Tried this question on the USB-USERS list, but got no response. Any USB
people here?
I got an external case for an 80 GB notebook HD I had. It seemed that I
was successful in installing basic pieces to get it to run (partition
via sfdisk and mkfs.ext3). The kernel recognizes it when I plug it in
(via sfdisk -l or cdrecord --scanbus). I manually mount it and had no
trouble re-partitioning it from the WinXP disk it was to a single
partition EXT3. I made the file system. I can read and write to it, but
it then dies for no apparent reason.
/var/log/messages says: (I'm not sure that the first 3 entries below are
for the
ext hd or not)

Any ideas are welcome.
