This article is somewhat dangerous...

Putting the drive in the freezer will (obviously) cool it down. If you
then take the drive out of the freezer again and hook it up to your PC,
it'll still be cold, thus cooling down the surrounding air, and causing
condensation. I don't think *any* electrical component is rated to run
at condensing humidity levels.

This is the reason you're supposed to let freshly delivered electronic
devices sit and warm up before you plug them in.

Of course, with the low humidity levels around here, you're better off
than some places, but there's certainly still the potential for a problem.

Perhaps a mitigating method would be to keep the drive in the ziplock
back after removing it from the freezer, attach the cables through the
zip, suck all the air out, and seal it up.
