Not really.  I was worried about that before I started doing it, but I
really don't find that I am passing that much data.  I could set up a route
to a server if I'm doing a big download, but I rarely do that.

Then learn the joys of Linux fwmark routing to only route particular
protocols over the VPN.

I certainly trust it more than some random coffee shop or the like...
