[NCLUG] Off-the-shelf linux laptop?

I think Dell is selling notebooks with Ubuntu installed still. This site 
looks a little out of date http://linux.dell.com/
Do you need it preinstalled? The last 2 times I bought a notebook I 
bought a Dell off lease notebook without an OS then installed my 
favorite distribution, its not much cheaper without an OS but a little. 
You might be able to order a new one without an OS also but you would 
have to call a rep its not an option through their website. I have 
always had good luck getting Dell hardware to work under Linux (except 
for the Latitude C series dock).
