Are you really locked into Verizon?

BTW, I have a 755p.  It's nice, but the older treo models were 
noticably faster.  The CPU isn't slower, but I think the OS keeps 
the CPU underclocked most of the time and takes a little while to 
bump the speed up during load.

FWIW, the n800 is available, but it's not a cell phone.  It works 
nicely with VoIP, but I'd recommend a headset for that.  It's not 
really designed to be held to one's ear.
