As someone who is paid to write open source software on a daily basis, I
am living proof that you can make money writing open source software.
Just because we change mainstream software to free (as in freedom)
software doesn't mean that there aren't jobs in software development.
In fact, as software becomes more open, I think it becomes a greater
learning environment for more developers.
