[NCLUG] Netbook/laptop reccomendation?

Hi folks,
My wife is ready to take the linux plunge so we are looking for something with good compatibility and low price.
She is not a power user of any kind so the machine really just needs to do internet and Open Office.
We like the netbook form factor, but will consider laptops.
Price is a big consideration, in fact we are considering waiting til January to see if prices drop even further.

Today I see an Acer 10.1" netbook with xp for $197.  Does anyone use this machine and have feedback?
