This is with the outfit I work for in my day job, though I telecommute from

Description:
We are a three year old web crawling company based in downtown San
Mateo. We run a large (300+ servers) co-located data center in San Jose
and have a team of super smart developers working on our crawlers and
indexes. We are seeking a Jr-Intermediate Linux Systems Administrator
to join our team. We maintain a large scale environment of Linux
systems. There will be quite a bit of out of the box thinking, problem
resolution and solid methodical troubleshooting of various systems,
including OS, hardware and or network related issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
Server tuning, maintenance, trouble-shooting and deployment.
Apache and Tomcat web servers management
Drbd setup and management
Perl scripting for motoring the network (using Nagios)
Ganglia, Cricket Monitoring
Create tools and write unix and perl scripts to automate daily tasks.
Assist in deployment of new machines, services and features.
Manage vmware installation and vmclients
Support existing infrastructure
Knowledge of common protocols like SMTP, POP, IMAP, DNS, FTP and HTTP
In office IT support tasks for the company execs and engineers
Job Requirements:
Hands on Apache and Tomcat web servers management
Hands on drbd setup and managing
Hands on Perl scripting for motoring the network (using Nagios)
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining common x86 hardware.
Perl, shell programming experience.
Kickstart implementation
Should be self motivated and willing to learn. (This is most important of all)
Hands on Linux/UNIX
