[NCLUG] X window "always on bottom" ?

I've been using overrideRedirect to keep a clock on my (wmx) desktop
in a fixed, out of the way spot, like so:

  xclock -xrm "*overrideRedirect: True" &

Unfortunately, this has the side effect of making the application
window "always on top", so no other window can cover it.

Is there any additional (or alternative) xrdb incantation to
accomplish an unmanaged, but always on the *bottom* X app window ?
Something that would sit right above the desktop wallpaper, but below
any other window I might choose to place over it ?

Thanks,
--Gabriel
