Hi Bonnell,
If you build an ISO of a live run from CD or DVD and run fdisk to see if
the disk is recognizable in the first place. I usually make a 20Gb
partition as the first partition to put the operating system and
applications in and see if you can get anywhere that way. You may have
something funky with your system also.
