Didn't someone post the links to this bug report in a different thread just
a day or so ago?

If so, reading through the reports would indicate a possible solution
involving using a boot script (upstart or whatever). The reports suggest
the issue is with the Radeon card, X, and the card's enablement.

I don't have a Radeon system, so I didn't go further than noting the
potential work around mentioned in the bug report thread.
