The NCLUG mailing list and web site move has been completed!

The web site and mailing list are now hosted on a bare metal server
running in Fort Collins. It is a fresh install and configuration of
Mailman for the mailing list however Postfix for mail has been in
service there for many years. The web server is running Nginx.

As the world is an ever changing place so must we make changes to
adapt. The new web site features https everywhere instead of http
which I am sure most will welcome.

The biggest changes are forced upon us for mail delivery reasons.
Mail from the mail server uses and passes SPF (Sender Policy
Framework), DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail), and DMARC (Domain-based
Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance). This should
alleviate difficulties that some members were having with delivery.

However in order to support DKIM use Subject tags and body footers
needed to be removed in order to avoid breaking message signatures.
The List-Id header as per standards is provided to allow for automated
mail message handling and filing. Also if a member posts from a site
where they implement a restrictive DMARC policy then the mailing list
will "munge" the From address header to be via the mailing list itself
to allow delivery. If there is interest DKIM this could be a topic
for later discussion!

Once again let me thank Tummy for their support of NCLUG as well as
their many other community activities!

Bob
