Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. First and foremost, I'd like to introduce myself first. My name is Alfredo Cisneros Romero, and I am a young 17-year-old high school student who has made and presented a draft proposal for the Poudre School District's Information Technology Department to implement Free and Open Source Software. I have been using Linux ever since I was 8 years old, and I started using it as my main operating system when I was 12 years old. As someone with a proud passion for Linux, I love to encourage people to use Linux (and Free and Open Source Software in general), and that is why I am joining this group.

A couple of days ago, I reached out to a local business in Fort Collins which plans to host a Linux installation event, as part of the [End of 10](https://endof10.org/) campaign led by KDE. I thought it was an excellent idea; however, since the business owner is the one making the main decisions for his event (long story short, the business owner wasn't particularly too keen to have one of my close friends who has extensive experience with Linux distributions join the planning team), I (and another person who was also participating in the meeting) decided to not continue with his plans, especially since I believe that it should be an installation event for the community, by the community. Because of that, I would like to see if we as a community of Linux users could collaborate with each other and make a local community-led Linux installation event in Fort Collins/Northern Colorado, as part of the End of 10 efforts (for the record, the business owner still left his doors open, so to speak, and he is glad to help me with the idea of a local community-run Linux installation event).

Tomorrow, I will be meeting with the Northern Colorado Linux Users Group from 6-9 PM (their meeting location is on their website), and I will present my idea and my vision to the group. I was thinking that we could maybe use the ideas that the business owner wrote on his Google Doc planning sheet that he used for his event (I downloaded an offline copy of it that is attached to this email), and many of the same things that I wrote with him will also apply for this hypothetical event, but I want them to be applied in a community-led way, where every person who is involved with the event mutually agrees with major decisions (e.g. inviting people, how the event should be organized, logistics, etc.). If any of you are interested in any way with helping, please let me know in tomorrow's meeting. The business owner also said that he would go to the meeting tomorrow, so we can discuss the possibility of something.

Just want people to be aware of it so it's on the radar for tomorrow's meeting. See you then!

Kind regards,
Alfredo Cisneros Romero.
