Aaron opened the meeting. Things started with small talk as we went
around the room for introductions and talks. And started a trend that
we must top each other over how long we have been running linux. Tom
has been one of the long time lurkers but showed up tonight for the
meeting. Works on firmware for charge controllers. Stephen
introduced himself and gave a pitch for the Creator Hub being a 501c
non-profit and could use donations.
David talked a little about his use of a Raspbery Pi to control the
greenhouse features at his house, now his brother's house. Too many
graphics ports standards. His latest Pi upgrade included a switch
from HDMI to mini-HDMI and of course then an adaptor is needed.
Michael has recently converted to linux and was looking for community
around the system to make learning about things like port forwarding
easier. Dave recently moved to town and found our little group.
Dan brought a 10-inch mini-rack that he 3D printed entirely! He
currently has almost all of the Raspberry Pi variations in it. All of
the numbered ones at least. Plus a UPS and a switch and a PDU.
We then due to questions from those present we had a big
discussion/tutorial session on NAT and CG-NAT and port forwarding and
DMZ and related configurations. How IPv4 is different from IPv6 in
this topic area. And so forth. Good time.
